Cal State San Marcos to Host Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation National Education Tour

California State University San Marcos will host the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation national community educational tour.  On the Way to the Cure – Komen on the Go™ is a nationwide initiative that will bring life-saving breast health information to all students, faculty, staff and community members. The stop along the nine-week, 36-stop tour aims to heighten awareness of breast health and breast cancer and a deeper commitment to practical, everyday health habits that could save their lives.

WHAT:  This hands-on, community learning experience will feature the Komen on the Go pink trailer, which converts into an interactive learning center, complete with computer kiosks, breast cancer educational materials, breast self-examination (BSE) guides, information on how to volunteer locally, tips on how to be an effective co-survivor and an eight-foot “graffiti wall” to share memories or pledge personal support in the cause to end breast cancer. Local breast cancer survivors and health care professionals will be on hand to share their experiences and knowledge.
