Cal State San Marcos Celebrates ‘Black History Month’
California State University San Marcos celebrates ‘Black History Month’ during February with a film series, lectures, special events and outings for students. Venues include the University Village Apartments (UVA) classroom at the corner of Barham Drive and Campus Way Drive and various on-campus and off-campus locations.
Saturday, Feb. 10 at 9 p.m.
Black Student Union (BSU) hosts its Sweetheart Dance at the Clarke Field House.
Monday, Feb. 12 at noon
The African American Faculty and Staff Association (AAFSA) hosts a discussion on African American Health Issues in the Commons Building, Room 206.
Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.
BSU hosts fashion show at Clarke Field House.
Thursday, Feb. 15 at 5:30-7:00 p.m.
“Black Market” will be the topic of the “Dinner Dialogues” presented by the Cross-Cultural Center and Educational Equity & Diversity 7pm in the Dome.

“Just Black? Multi Racial Identities” documentary film showing and discussion in the UVA classroom.

“Women, AIDS and Poverty in Uganda” event featuring food, presentation and discussion as well as African jewelry sale in the UVA classroom to support BreadforLife, a program to eradicate extreme poverty and help its members who are women with HIV/AIDS and refugees from the war in Northern Uganda.
