Cal State Screens Student Videos During Two Special Events

What: The 2nd Annual Cal State San Marcos Student Video Festival will screen students’ experimental, narrative, documentary, and public service video work.

The Video in the Community Screening and Partners Celebration will screen student videos produced for local non-profits and community groups including a computer game for gang prevention, a dramatic short intended to raise awareness of and prevent rape, a public service announcement for oil recycling, and a promotional video for Girls, Inc.

Who:  Film students from California State University San Marcos, their partners from various non-profits and community groups, faculty, staff and the general public.

Why: Students showcase their accomplishments and creativity as well as their public service. The students have learned the latest in video production and how to creatively use multimedia as a tool to bring about social and cultural transformation. The community projects produce high quality, promotional videos that are otherwise beyond the financial reach of the organizations that they benefit.

When:   2nd Annual Student Video Festival is Wednesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Video in the Community Screening is Thursday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m.

Where:   2nd Annual Student Video Festival is in the campus Arts building, room 240.
Video in the Community Screening is in the campus Arts building, room 111.
Cal State San Marcos, 333 S. Twin Oaks Valley Road, San Marcos
