CSUSM Athletics Unveils Cougar Athletic Club
The Athletics Department at California State University San Marcos has launched a new athletic club aimed at promoting the university’s expanding athletics program, announced Jennifer Milo, associate director of development for athletics.
“The goals of the Cougar Athletic Club (CAC) are to support and promote Cougar Athletics through fundraising, community involvement, and by building awareness of our teams and student-athletes,” said Milo. “Funds raised from the Cougar Athletic Club will go primarily to student-athlete scholarships and each team's operating budgets that will help with such things as equipment, travel and uniforms.”
Milo said membership is open to everyone, and annual contributions of $100 or more provide active enrollment as well as exclusive benefits. For larger donations, benefits include once-in-a-lifetime experiences like a one-on-one session with a head coach and the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a Cougar baseball or softball game.
“We’re hoping the community will join us in cheering on and supporting our teams this season and beyond,” she said.
