CAL STATE SAN MARCOS PLANS YOUNG ARTIST PERFORMANCE NOV. 17
Andy Leu, son of Professor Jack Leu, College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos, will be the featured performer at the Center ARTES Young Artist in Residence Performance Saturday, Nov. 17 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 111 of the Arts Building at Cal State San Marcos. The public is invited and admission is free.
Andy is a junior and Silver Star honor roll student at Rancho Bernardo High School. He began the piano at the age of four and the violin at seven. He has been a member of the San Diego Youth Symphony since 2004 and currently serves as an associate concertmaster.
Andy was first place winner in the 2007 VOCE intermediate ensemble and second place in the intermediate strings division in the North San Diego Branch. He also won the 2007 San Diego Symphony’s Young Artists Competition (Hotshots) and he will be performing a movement of a piano concerto with the San Diego Symphony.
Andy will talk with the audience and answer any questions following the performance. Audience members may also donate to Center ARTES to attend a post-concert reception with Andy and his family. All proceeds will go toward arts programs in local schools.
